I hope you’ve all enjoyed your Sunday! My week was pretty busy, but super fun too.
Last week, my husband came back from work and decided to take Julianna to the park. He took the cutest pictures of her that day. When I saw them, I couldn’t believe my eyes! She looked so big, so mature, and so grown up! She has changed so much lately and my heart aches as I see my little baby become a beautiful young girl. I wish she could stay as my little baby girl forever. The funniest thing is that when I posted the pictures from that day, a lot of people had the same reaction as I did. They all said she looked so big! (tears rolling down my cheeks.)
On a happy note, my mother-in-law arrived from Florida on Monday night. We are all so happy because we’re able to have some alone time, help around the house, and tons of help with the kids of course. Julianna was SUPER excited to see her! Julianna woke up Tuesday morning to find her “nana” laying in bed patiently waiting for her. Since she got home, we have been spending a lot of family time and going around town with the kids. It’s a lot easier when you’ve got an extra pair of hands to help.
On Friday, I had the brilliant idea of getting lip injections (Restylane) before taking off on our little romantic trip on Monday night. I’ve had the procedure done a few times before, but since I haven’t done it in a while (around 2 years), my lips have gotten very swollen and tender (just like they did the very first time I got them). I have been icing them and applying tons of Arnica to help with the bruising and swelling. I am praying to all the Gods that they begin to feel normal by tomorrow night or Tuesday morning so I can enjoy the trip with the hubs instead of being conscious and upset about my swollen lips.
Tonight we’re all going out for dinner at an Italian restaurant called Ferraro’s. Our babysitter is coming over and watching the kids for a few hours. This place is a hidden gem. We have been going for years and the food is always amazing. I recommend it if you’re in town. It’s off the strip, so you don’t have to worry about all the tourists and/or high prices.
I know I’ve said it before, but I’m SO EXCITED for tomorrow! We are leaving to Santa Clarita, California tomorrow night after putting the kids down for bed. It’ll be a long 5-hour drive, but the good thing is that we can sleep and wake up early the next morning to go to Six Flags! Yay! I’ve never been there, so my adrenaline is already rushing through my body. I’m a huge fan of rollercoasters, so I’m sure it’ll be a fun trip! After Six Flags we’ll be heading to Santa Monica for a few relaxing days. I’ll make sure to update my Insta stories and update you on our little getaway.
As far as prepping goes, I’ve been packing my bags. I like to lay out my outfits with shoes and accessories so I know what my options are for the duration of our stay. I’ve made the mistake of putting a bunch of outfits in a suitcase and then not having shoes to match or earrings to wear. I’m a girly girl, so I try to plan everything ahead of time.
For the kids, I’ve been going through the kid’s routines with my mother-in-law. I’ve shown her how we put Rocco down for naps and bedtime. I’ve told her about the times we feed the kids, where we keep their things, etc. It’s a lot of information, so I’ve made a little paper with the most important information like how many ounces Rocco drinks, the types of foods that Julianna will eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. How we dress Rocco to sleep, etc. I don’t mean to be neurotic, but Joey and I have established a routine and a schedule for them that has worked perfectly well for both of them, so we’re trying our best to keep it that way wherever we go.
This is the first time I ever leave Rocco since he was born, so I’m sure I’ll get home sick during our vacay. Isn’t that funny? When you’re at home you can’t wait to get out, but when you’re finally out, you can’t wait to get back to the kids. Weird mom feelings, huh? Am I the only weirdo? Please comment below if I’m not alone.
Have a blessed week! XO
