The Meaning of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Christmas is my #1.

We usually celebrate Thanksgiving in our home. My husband and I like to wake up early, put music on, and start our day with a delicious brunch as we prepare all the yummy staples of a Thanksgiving dinner.

However, this year, we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving at our friend’s house. Everyone is making a particular dish for all of us to enjoy. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I’ll be making some Brown Butter Garlic and Honey Roasted Carrots and a Apple and Cranberry Walnut Salad.

I love the idea of getting together with all of our closest friends that have become the family that we’re lacking in Las Vegas. All of our family lives in Florida, so it can sometimes get lonely during the holidays.

This brings me to the thought of what’s the true meaning of Thanksgiving. For me, Thanksgiving represents a moment to be grateful; to feel blessed for all the positive moments that we have experienced and for every soul that we have touched. It’s the time to look back and realize how all the difficult moments have transformed us to who we are today.

Today, I’m thankful for my beautiful family. I’m thankful for my giving friends. I’m thankful for my supportive family. I’m thankful for the strong health and huge love that we have been blessed to have. Sometimes, we don’t take a second to think and acknowledge how awesome our lives really are.

Today, I invite you to take a moment. Take a deep breath. Soak it all in. Enjoy your family, enjoy your friends. Enjoy all the delicious food on the table. Enjoy your time. Because we only live once and we should be kind and be appreciative towards others and most importantly, to ourselves.

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m grateful for YOU.

With love,

Karina
